STPI Haldia was started in the year 2006, located in the district of Purba Medinipur, West Bengal also known as Industrial Hub of the district in the state of West Bengal. The centre was established with the objective of encouraging, promoting and boosting software exports from Haldia region. The centre has infrastructure and manpower to provide STP/EHTP statutory services, Incubation services, Datacom services, Co-Location Service, NOC operations and PMC activities. Haldia being an Industrial as well as Educational hub has great potential to become IT hub in the district of Purba Medinipur.
STPI Haldia Data Communication Services:
Presently, STPI Haldia has capacity to operate on multiple fiber gateways to cater the Datacom needs of the industry in this region and has well spread microwave local loop infrastructure to provide the last mile connectivity to customers across the city.

About Haldia
Haldia is a city and a municipality in Purba Medinipur in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is a major seaport located around 120 kilometers southwest of Kolkata near the mouth of the Hooghly River, one of the distributaries of the Ganges. Haldia is being developed as a major trade port for Calcutta, intended mainly for bulk cargoes. Haldia as a city is a modern one and it is growing very fast. The Haldia Township is bordered by the Haldi River an offshoot of the Ganges River. Haldia is also a base of Indian Coast Guard. There is a hover-port to house two of the six hovercrafts belonging to the Indian Coast Guard.
